Insights from each partner region
The results from this shared evaluation process gave us a clearer picture of the climate-related challenges in each pilot area:
Primorsko, Bulgaria – Flood risk is high in urban peripheries, with growing erosion due to intense rainfall and alternating droughts. Vegetation restoration and water retention measures will be critical.
Constanța, Romania – Urban heat islands and drought risks are increasing due to dense construction and limited green buffers. Strategic green infrastructure is urgently needed.
Kassandra, Greece – Agricultural lands suffer from severe soil degradation and lack of water retention. The project will focus on restoring soil quality and enhancing sustainable land use.
Odesa, Ukraine – Wind erosion and soil salinization threaten productivity and local ecosystems. Solutions include improving irrigation systems and reintroducing native vegetation.
These findings are not just data — they are a call to action, guiding each partner’s next steps toward real, sustainable interventions.
